Freelance writer Q&A coffee chat details + let's think outside the earned media box
More ideas for media coverage + what I am working on this week!
After 8 weeks of travel and press trips, nothing feels more glorious than writing this to you from the comfort of my couch. I am planning on being home for a few more weeks, and we are SO excited about it.
It’s been a calm couple of weeks around here for writing, but I know the holidays pick everything right back up. Plus, I’ve got two new publications I am writing for in November— so stay tuned for that.
Monthly Q&A Coffee Chat is Scheduled!
Last week we talked about a group coffee chat, and the amount of positive feedback blew me away — so it’s happening!
I would love for you to join me next Wednesday, 11/1 at 1 pm ET for a chat about all things pitching, freelance writing, do’s and don’ts, industry trends, and any questions you have for me!
This call is for paid subscribers — so if you haven’t already, smash the subscribe button to join us. If you’re part of an agency and want to give multiple people in your group access, respond to this email and we will set you up with a reduced agency rate!
If you’re a writer and want to hang out + chime in on this coffee chat, I’d love to have you too!
PS. Today, I am recording Kiersten Hickman’s podcast. If you’re also looking for a podcast guest — to talk about nutrition or media work — I’d love to get connected! And if you’re not already subscribed to her Substack, you need to be!
Calls for pitches, upcoming assignments, etc.
New assignments will be here each week! Depending on the season, I am writing 10-20 stories per month right now.

As a dietitian, I work with brands who are looking for more ways to spread their message. Here are some of my biggest tips, strategies, and ideas for coverage outside of traditional earned media.
